Sunday Morning Math and the Single Bullet Theory

What’s going on my faithful? Nothing new here. Work schedule has been holding my attention more then I’d like to admit, but I suspect this is nothing out of the ordinary for anyone else as well.

Lets talk a little about some simple math that I have been thinking about lately. In my day to day life in the back of my head I have been hearing two things, hunger and obesity in the US. You’re probably thinking to yourself, “what the hell got into your head to think of those two statistics?” HEY don’t judge! I hear the shit on TV in the background or see it on the internet while surfing for free porn. Whatever!

Anyway, it got me to thinking. All I hear about is the number of americans who go hungry and the number of americans who are fat fucks! So I spent about thirty seconds of Google-Fu to look up a few statistics.

According to most reputable sources CDC/FDA etc, one in six americans are “food insecure”. Meaning out of six americans one is going hungry. Ok I can see that.

Lets look at another statistic. According to most reputable sources again the CDC/FDA 1/3 of americans are classified as clinically obese. i.e. Fat fucks! If we take the same six americans above, two of the six are fat asses. Ok I can see that too.

Now lets look at the six americans. One is hungry or starving, two are fat fucks eating too much. What about the other three? Who are the other three? According to the IRS and Census more then 50% of the able bodied people of working age pay zero (0) taxes.

This is obviously an over simplification of some very basic statistical analysis. Granted the one starving and the two fat fucks of the six also count children not just able body work aged adults. One could draw many conclusions about the population of this country, but the simple undeniable conclusion remains. Who the fuck is in charge of this nation and how the fuck did we as a nation get so blinded to simple right and wrong to elect these imbeciles that may think these statistics are ok?

Forget Iran, Iraq and Israel for a second. Forget about some bullshit forced healthcare, and forget about what two gay men or women do in the privacy of their own homes.  Forget about Hector the illegal landscaper who cuts your grass or lays your tile. Forget for just a second the whack job retarded kid who couldn’t take an insult when called a nerd or pussy in high school then takes his crackpot mothers guns and kills all the teachers and kids at the school.

Forget all that shit for a second.

We have allowed. We have elected. We have sanctioned and put in power, people in this country who stand up and speak for us all, that very simply think its ok for one of you starve, two of you to eat yourselves to death, and three of you to not do shit at all but take a free fucking ride!

Who the hell do you blame for this? Bush? Obama? Republicans? Democrats? NBC? FOX? Wall Street?

Look in the mirror. Look at your neighbor.

Speaking of elected officials. This past week was also the 50th anniversary of the assignation of President John F. Kennedy. Its always the same. Oswald acted alone. Oswald didn’t act alone. Experts proved he could have gotten the shots off. Experts have proved he couldn’t have acted alone and had help.

Here is what I think. Who gives a shit who killed JFK? At least someone had the balls (or hairs for you powerful women out there :-P) to at least do something. No really. I am not advocating all out wholesale assassination of our inept elected officials. There is one undeniable fact. Its gets the point across.

Think about it for a second. These career politicians get into office and do whatever they like. Sure it starts out with the “serving his/her constituents” but soon its serving big interests with unlimited money. They write and create laws that protect their abhorrent behavior and what are we the people left with? I’ll tell you what we have. One of you starving, two of you eating yourself to death, and three of you not doing a fuck all to contribute anything to this nation.

How do we take back our government? Like I said, I’m not an advocate for murder and assassination but if I was an elected official and had a choice between say bankrupting the nation, saddling my kids, kid and their kids, with future debt and no hope for prosperity or overhauling healthcare in a way that protected everyone in a voluntary, free market way without the overzealous use of lawyers / tort law or the proposition of a bullet to my head, I could probably find a way to do the hard work.

Kennedy through our media over the years has been made into this “great President”. I mean when you get your brains blown out in front of everyone, sure I can see how survivors remorse and national shame would elevate someones legacy. What people fail to realize is Kennedy was at the time a mediocre trending towards “shit” president. Sure Kennedy did good, but he also did bad. A lot of people hated Kennedy and I am not talking a handful of southern racists either. His father Joe was a known scumbag and his brother Robert as the Attorney General was a shitbird. Robert got his in 1968. Shocker. Not really.

In the end JFK was laying major legislative groundwork to wrestle away more power and freedoms from you and I to give to politicians to act in a way…well to act in a way that they act like now. Without consequence.

If you think about it in 1963 it wasn’t that hard to blow away the President. Oswald did it. Probably. Most likely. He got a shot off for certain anyway. Why the conspiracy theory to this day? Probably to keep from showing just how easy it is for the people to take this country back and wrestle away the power that belongs to you and I instead of career politicians.

Its 2013 now. Chances are slim to none of successfully shooting the president. Hell you can’t even talk about it without raising concern. That being said we still have something more powerful then a bullet. We have the vote. Its just a shame that we have been bullshitted and indoctrinated by a media, special interests, and our own government that the one thing we still have does not carry the same weight and consequences as the other.

In closing when you hear the politicians and your neighbors talk about taking away your rights to guns and bullets, know that to them its no different then taking away your vote.

Let ‘er rip tater chips.

Shelter From the Storm

Dragline on CouchSuddenly I turned around and she was standing there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
“Come in” she said
“I’ll give you shelter from the storm” -Bob Dylan

It’s another Wednesday and by now we’ve all probably have succumbed to the notion that the weekend has left us and we’re faced with another mid-week of skullduggery in the work place.

Nothing new or much to report. I pretty much have been getting used to two dogs in the house these last two weeks. It’s been smooth sailing so far without even the first problem with two male dogs in the house. Both play, get along, and tolerate each other well. I was rather nervous at first, but those apprehensions weren’t founded.

Don’t take my guns! Wait. What? Fifteen year old girls can buy Plan B contraception over the counter without parental guidance or prescription? HOLD THE F’ing TRAIN! Stop the presses. This ladies and gentleman is the height of republican hypocrisy.

Heres the bottom line folks. If you do not want your underage daughters to be able to run into a drug store and buy over the counter contraception without a prescription, then very simply…..don’t raise them to be sluts. Be a parent, teach them values, morals and to have respect for themselves. Teach them the values of sex, love and trust and how each is required with a good dose of maturity to navigate the world of having sex and making love. Do all those things and you wont have to worry about them running into CVS to buy Plan B because she snuck out her window and banged Hector the lawn maintenance guy on the air conditioning compressor in the back of the house.

You want your guns and assault rifles left alone, and you claim as long as we’re all law abiding their existence and availability is ok. Then same goes for Plan B being sold over the counter to those young ladies who may need it. You should have nothing to worry about you’re raising your daughters with morals and trust, this doesn’t affect you so don’t think you can assert your will and opinions on others just like you don’t want someone telling you that you don’t need an AK-47 or AR-15 assault rifle.

Now for me, I want my assault rifles, high capacity magazines and all the Plan B I can get my hands on. Why? Simple. Generally the majority of our population is lazy and you’re raising thieves and sluts. I need the weapons to protect myself and property from your sons and the Plan B to screw your daughters.

Tennessee Stud

CashThe Tennessee Stud was long and lean
The color of the sun and his eyes were green
He had the nerve and he had the blood
There was never a horse like the Tennessee Stud – Johnny Cash

Been a long strange week and theres no better way to hold the line then with some Johnny Cash.

Some idiots decided to take out their frustrations of not making friends, money, or getting laid in this country by assembling some crude explosive devices and deploying them against innocent people in a popular foot race in Boston. Some people died, some people lost legs, some people lost their faith in the simple notion of public safety.

Then as has been proven time and again in this nations short history, when things are down we pull together and stand as one. Its a shame it takes such extreme devastation to look past religious or political differences to come together as a nation as was evidenced this past week in the subsequent killing and capture of the two suspects.

None the less we live in different times now. Its not up to our government to protect us from every idiot retard kid with a gun or extreme idealogical asshole with a pipe bomb. One needs to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings at the mall, NASCAR races, football games, or the movie theater. If somethings strange or your gut tells you somethings not right, move along or tell someone.

The kid that lost both his legs, who later in the hospital told the FBI/authorities the bomber looked him in the face, placed the backpack/bomb at his feet and then walked away only two and a half minutes later to have the bomb go off may be hailed as a hero. The fact remains, he unknowingly stood next to a goddamn bomb, after watching the bomber place the pack at his feet and did nothing. While hindsight is always 20/20 in this day and age if you’re out in highly congested areas and some jackass sets a rather large backpack on the ground and moves away in a fashion like he/she isn’t coming back you get your ass out of dodge too.

American BulldogIn other news, I adopted another dog from the local animal shelter. In keeping with my tradition of naming all my animals after characters from the movie Cool Hand Luke, say hello to Dragline.

Drag is about a three year old American Bulldog, Pit, Mastiff and anything else. About a year ago the local no kill shelter got him from the Humane Society which was going to Buddieseuthanize him the very next day. Dragline at the time was heartworm positive and not in good shape. We got him cleaned up, healthy again, and now he is thriving and in my home with my Cocker Spaniel, Lucas Jackson War Hero.

Both dogs are getting along without any overt our outward aggression. I keep my eye on them since they’re both males and when any sizing up to see who is the alpha between the two starts to take place, I get in the middle and show them that neither of them are in charge that I am their pack leader. The last few days around here have been lots of exercise, discipline and love. Rinse lather repeat. Its working.

Guns and the second amendment has been a pretty hot topic these last few months. I will admit I felt good about watching a dejected Obama cry on TV about his gun legislation not getting past the senate. As if I needed to state publicly, I am not in favor of ANY additional gun control. Not “assault” weapons bans or magazine capacity limitations. I do not support private sale background checks. If a government agent can come to my door with a thirty round magazine in an assault type weapon, as long as I am not a convicted felon I should be able to meet that force with the exact same level. Period the end. Its not about hunting, its not about need. Its about simple unalienable right!

.45 auto 1911Last week, a friend of mine whom is new to firearms and shooting wanted to go to a gun range and shoot. I offered my services since any opportunity bring someone new into shooting and firearms with some level of safety and respect is a good thing. I have plenty of guns, been shooting all my life so away we went.

We drove to a brand new indoor rage not to far from here. Plenty of staff, new accommodations and equipment. Gun rental, ammunition, eye and ear protection you know the scene.

After a short questionnaire and hold harmless releases, all new members watch a five minute range safety video. No problem I think and we head over to a small tv in the corner of the establishment.

Its a Saturday, business is good and there are plenty of people in the shop both customer and staff. My friend and I are about a minute into the safety video, the front counter is over my right shoulder behind me where business is being conducted. People buying range ammo, renting guns, having personal weapons safety checked for used on range etc.

Then it happens.

FUCKING BLAM!

In all of about 1/2 second I automatically know what the sound is without even flinching or turning my head. My lady friend who has never really shot or been around guns jumps about three feet straight up. I position myself between her and where the sound came from. I think in my head, “ok we’re at a gun range with clearly armed staff, we’re not being robbed, so the next thing is accidental discharge and I am going to look over there now and see someone bleeding out on the floor if they weren’t already dead.” Remember the elapsed time from gunshot to me making sure my friend was ok, to turning around knowing what I was going to see was all of about 1/2 to 3/4 of a second.

I look over, sure enough accidental discharge. No one is down, no one is bleeding. Good sign. Some young kid staff member had the sense to point the customers weapon into a safe direction while either clearing a jammed weapon or handed a loaded weapon from a customer. I never got the full story, but the rest of the staff didn’t beat the shit out of the customer after the fact so I suspect the staff was trying to clear a jam, which was successful albeit through the wall behind the cash register.

While the entire establishment is deathly silent and in disbelief, I rather loudly proclaim “maybe you guys (staff) need to watch this movie too.”

Everyone is ok, the staff member chokes his balls back out of his throat and excuses himself to go change his pants.

I knew this wasn’t going to be a good start to introducing my friend to the pleasures of shooting and gun ownership. However she was a trooper and continued on. Nervously.

I had my heirloom reworked 1911 .45cal that my grandfather carried in WWII and my father carried in Vietnam. I rented a nice Luger .357 roll gun for my friend as she was interested in revolvers. Now you’re probably thinking “you gave a woman new to shooting, who just stood 10 feet away from an accidental discharge a .357?”

First timersYes I did. I am of the opinion while I have her here go big now and get it over with. You know what? She shot it too and believe it or not with all things considered she did very good with it. It is in fact too much gun for her, but I reassured her this is all part of the process of finding a personal weapon. You shoot a bit of everything, but now she has pretty much as far as kick and power, shot the worst of the worst. Granted there’s the .44 mags and .50 hand cannons but we already know those will never be a part of her arsenal. We put a box through the .357 and .45 and she tries both. She’s never really been around an active busy gun range and shot at the same time, plus with being unnerved with the slight episode in the lobby, she did do well. I was proud of her. We’ll go again to the range and try other guns. She’ll get more accustomed to the sounds and smells, and she’ll one day pick a gun to call her own. All in all a successful fist trip.

Hello faithful readers. Happy Monday. Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Happy Presidential Inauguration Day.

I miss Bill Clinton. Well let me rephrase. I miss Bill Clinton chasing ass around the White House. It nice to see he hasn’t changed as evidenced by the picture of him above snapped today. Stay classy Bill.

I wish I could tell you some exciting news about this past weekend. There isn’t much. New computers, big work projects, chores, and associated skullduggery and here we are.

Its the beginning of another week in the salt mines, and a President entering his second term. A president who thinks its absolutely ok to kill americans abroad with predator drones without any due process or the first constitutional check. Did you know that? Probably not since the administration is too busy figuring out ways to keep honest law abiding citizens from obtaining and owning assault style weapons with high capacity magazines. Except of course if you happen to be a Mexican drug cartel then its ok. The hypocrisy of this administration would be laughable if it wasn’t so sadly true. In the end we ultimately get the representation we deserve.

I have been watching the news lately in regards to gun control. While I doubt there will be anything to pass the house by way of federal law, I still wont bet against it. As a simple businessman with an interest towards economy, I bet President Obama would have been in a U-Haul right now heading back to Chicago. We know how that turned out. I won’t speculate about no sweeping changes in gun laws heading our way.

When I hear or read arguments about future gun control and the left or the right for that matter use the “hunting rifles and target shooting weapons are ok and no one needs thirty round magazines or military assault weapon” I cringe. Here is the bottom line as simple as can be explained regarding the second amendment.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

Now people can twist this any way they want. Notice in here there is NOTHING regarding anything about “Hunting”. There is also nothing in here regarding assault weapons or high capacity magazines or clips. This amendment very simply states we have the right to bear arms to protect the security of the free state. In the context of the time, it meant people of Florida, or Georgia, or any other of the states could keep and bear arms to protect the state from the government or unknown outside influences. I know a lot of gun control advocates who either didn’t take a fucking history class or choose to ignore it, but I’ll help some more, in ebonics and street talk.

When us round eye, pale skinned honkeys first came here, we were a part of ENGLAND. As more and more of us came from England to this new world, we posted our asses up and down the east coast and called these new hoods, colonies, which we later after building some McDonalds, and KFC’s we called states.

Then ENGLAND said “Oh hell no. You honkeys has moved on up, you needs to pay more of your money to the King”. Then the tea came from England and the King said, you pay more. We were all like, “Fuck you”, and dumped that shit tea into the harbor.

Then some old guys like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Hancock, and a bunch of others from each state, hung out and drank beer in Philadelphia Pa. While they were getting drunk they decided to write a letter to the King of England telling him to eat a bunch of dicks. Also that for now on we were not part of England, we were now the United States of America. The Declaration of Independence was the fuck you letter we sent to king. John Hancock hated the King of England so much he wanted to wipe his cock all over the paper, but being a man of class and honor, he just signed his name real big so the old bastard would see it without his spectacles.

Now the smart old dudes that made up and signed the fuck you letter to the King of England knew the King would send an army to try and kick our asses. They talked some tall bastard with wooden teeth to gather a bunch of men from each state with their own weapons to band together to fight the war with the English. Wooden teeth dude was George Washington.

The english army showed up, George Washington and his collection of homeboys from each state, fought England and they kicked their asses.

We won our independence and became the United States of America.

Now when all this shit was done, the drunk old dudes in Philly who wrote the “Fuck You” letter to England, decided to write another paper. This paper was called “The Constitution”. This paper dictated how we as the New United States would govern ourselves. We knew how bad England sucked ass and that we didn’t want to wind up like England. A lot of beer was drunk, Ben Franklin screwed some French whores, and Thomas Jefferson got to writing shit up. Thomas Jefferson was a smart guy with good handwriting who liked the dark meat. The main idea was that all United States men were free, could do what we want, and no one person had ultimate power to rule. Checks and balances were put in place to keep any one person or group from ruling over another.

Things we’re cool at first, but then a few years later, when the dudes in Philly sobered up, they realized the constitution wasn’t perfect and needed some fine tuning. They got together again, and wrote another paper called the Bill of Rights. See they knew government and power of any kind left unchecked can get too powerful and just use the system to make its own laws and then they were right back to the old days of England and the King fucking with people. So being sober and smart, the Philly crew created the second amendment of the Bill of Rights. Its what I show above.

This amendment was very simple. People can keep arms, to protect their individual states safe from the government. If the Government got to screwing around and wanted to kick Florida or Georgia’s ass then the Florida or Georgia boys could use their guns, (same as the Government guns) to fight back if need be, and say “better slow your roll bitch, we don’t play like that”.

The founding fathers (Philly beer club dudes) knew this would keep the government they created from ever getting too powerful like England tried and taking away the right of free men to be happy and not be fucked with.

In the context of the time of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the government had muskets and the free people had muskets.

Today our government has thirty round magazines and assault weapons. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION HERE. If our Government has these weapons, free law abiding United States Citizens are entitled to the exact same weapons.

Do you understand this now? You may not want an assault weapon with a thirty round magazine. You don’t have to have one. You may not need an assault weapon with a thirty round magazine, but if your standard federal government has one, then you are protected by birth and the drunk Philly crew to own that exact same weapon.

This my friends is history, and this my friends is freedom. There is no simpler way to understand the Constitution or the Bill of Rights or what the founding fathers meant when they created both documents.

Also understand your buddy down the street doesn’t need a nuclear warhead and his own B-52 bomber and we have laws to deal with that scenario. However every free, law abiding man and now woman, in this country has the right to own any weapon that his or her own government could hypothetically show up at their front door with and meet and defend their freedom with the same force. Thats the Constitution. Thats the Second Amendment. That is the last check and balance of TRUE FREEDOM.

Since those founding fathers gave us this right, hundreds of thousands of men and some women have given their lives to protect and preserve it.

This isn’t about hunting, or target shooting. This is about freedom to choose and freedom to protect and defend yourself in an equal and as aggressive a manner as our own government could attack free men.

Its the ultimate check and balance that keeps men free against any government we happen to elect and legislatively create. Don’t ever forget this or mistake it for anything else. Everything else concerning the second amendment and gun control outside of what I explain here is complete and utter bullshit looking to limit your freedom, guaranteed by many thousands of men and women who gave their lives to protect.

In closing, you may not want or need to have an assault weapon with a high capacity magazine. You do not have to buy or own one. Its your choice and you have the freedom to do what you want. What you and any government we create doesn’t have is the right to deny any law abiding honest man or woman to go out and buy and own these weapons if they so choose. Their choice to own them can be as simple as “Just fucking because” nothing more.

Hope this wordy and and rather simple explanation brings clarity to those seeking or needing it. Extreme and blunt? Maybe, but I would suggest you crack a history book from anywhere in recorded time and look at every single other civilization, period of time, government or group of people whom were disarmed or limited in their defense by those that ruled over them and see where they are now.

Let ‘er rip, tater chip!

I paint a picture of the days gone by…

When love went blind and you would make me see
I’d stare a lifetime into your eyes
So that I knew that you were there for me
Time after time you there for me

The year was 1989 and Skid Row was exploiting the popular trend at the time of the heavy metal power ballad. Its a toe tapper. Now I feel dirty.

I must hurry and change the subject to more manly items.

My niece and my brothers dog Spook.

Spook_Charlotte

She’s almost two and thats my brothers pit bull hanging from his rope. There is a small knot he bites and hangs there. The dogs half retarded and has breath that smells likes ass but he’s a good dog, and has never been aggressive towards Charlotte. Charlotte isn’t afraid of him and they play and tolerate each other. Being reasonable dog owners my brother isn’t very far when the two are together, but in any event, this is proof breed has nothing to do with the perceived notion of dog aggression. How you raise a dog and your pet responsibility holds all the cards to how your animal will behave around people.

Something else comes to mind and seems to work the same way. Guns. Imagine that. We can pass and or overturn breed specific dog laws and ordinances, but somehow we think if we eliminate certain assault weapons then we’ll magically be safe. Anyone see the irony in this?

Ugh, people are stupid, particularly the ones working in Washington DC.

People for years have asked me about computers, help them with computers, ask what computers to buy. I make no bones that for many years I have made a decent living making Windows based Microsoft products work. I don’t look that good fortune in the gift horse mouth. However anyone that has asked me in the last five or six years what computers to get I answer in the following way.

If money is an issue and you don’t care about shit software, constant vigil over virus protection, and operating system upgrade or patch up, then go with Microsoft Windows. You have some extra money, and want something that just works and is not a pain in the ass go spend your money on Apple.

MacBookPro

Six years ago, I got rid of every single Microsoft product in my house and I haven’t looked back. Today I have continued that trend and upgraded my 2007 MacBook with a brand new model MacBook Pro. I have some work projects coming up and worked a deal with the ol’ employer. I am as happy with this new laptop as I was with the first one six years ago. You pay a premium for Apple products, but there is a reason. Its not junk. Fit and finish, function of the operating system and it blows Windows shit out of the water.

I’ll continue to earn a living making Microsoft products work. When I come home and want to use a computer though, Its going to be an Apple product. Call me a fan boy, I don’t care. Show me what you can do with your Windows product and I’ll show you I can do it better faster and easier with Apple. At twice the price, but I sleep at night knowing when I use my Apple products they will work without aggravation.

So all of you I have steered towards Apple products, I just want you know, I practice what I preach.

Today is TGIF. Its also pork tenderloin with apricot mustard sauce dinner day. I’ll snap a few pictures if it turns out ok and post it in the recipe section. Pork is pretty lean and I’ll throw in some squash and zucchini to health it up a bit.

Let ‘er rip, tater chip!

Oh hello Monday. Its nice to see you this time.

Hello faithful blog readers. Anything new? I know, I know, this unfortunately is probably a Monday we are all happy to see arrive.

As most of you are fully aware of the horrendous tragedy that took place this past Friday in Connecticut, what is the most ugly of these events is how our media exploits the situation.

We know nothing about the young man that committed these horrible crimes. We know nothing about the young mans family or upbringing. Yet the media is running wild with speculation as to means and motive. The media feeds the knee jerk reaction of every simple minded talking head to pontificate on personal opinion regarding the second amendment, further gun control, mental illness all the way down to what video games and tv the accused may have watched in his life. Of course the simpletons among us see the only solution to the problem is to eliminate all those listed things. Idiots.

Gun control does not fix this problem. Banning assault weapons does not eliminate school, movie theater, or mall shootings. Psychiatric hospitals and mental health doctors do not prevent these horrible things from happening. Purple magical unicorns and school prayers do not prevent these things from happening. Grandstanding moronic legislators promising new bills outlawing every single behavior or device prevent these horrible acts from occurring.

Understand this and repeat it a million times. Personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility comes in all shapes and sizes of life. From a mother with a mentally unstable kid living in her home deciding that while it may be lawful to own and collect an assortment of weapons, that its probably in her and the local populations best interest that she not have a fucking arsenal in her garage/basement. Thats personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility comes in the shape of a mother, father, brother, sister, family member, police, doctor, lawyer, judge, fireman, priest saying to someone, “look your sister, brother, son, daughter, is a fucking lunatic who needs mental health treatment”. It’s nothing to be ashamed of and no different then if you’re sick with the flu, cancer, or a broken leg. Until we let go of the stigma of mental health being a big no no talk and dirty little secret to ignore, then someone in the chain of life is failing at personal responsibility for that sick members condition and possible life experiences.

Personal responsibility comes in the forms of our school administrators and local elected government protecting our children. Before we bitch and moan about the teachers unions and their shitty pay, we need to know do we have any level of security? Is there the simplest form of a security plan about who the hell can walk into or get access into a full school of kindergarten children? How about a security plan or access control for a fucking kid armed to the teeth with assault rifles and pistols dressed in tactical or threatening clothing? Its not hard to spot these mass shooting perpetrators for god sake. Maybe we should lock a door. Maybe we should install a camera. Maybe we should pay at least someone to watch the locked fucking door or camera. Thats personal responsibility, whether its from a school principal, security guard, or Mr. Smith the science teacher.

Until we as a society start taking a look at ourselves for our problems instead of pointing blame at others, we will continue the downward spiral. We are each responsible for our own happiness and survival. No one is going to effectively legislate responsibility, happiness, safety, or morality. Only you the individual can do any of those things. What needs to be understood however is while there are those that refuse to take personal responsibility for their own lives and actions the simpletons whom we the lazy have elected to represent those that refuse to take personal responsibility, will only take away the freedoms from the few of us that try to live in a responsible way.

  • Drugs are bad. Take them away. How has that worked?
  • Alcohol is bad. Take it away. How has that worked?
  • Cigarettes are bad. Take them away. How has that worked?
  • Speeding in a car is bad. Take it away. How has that worked?
  • Guns are bad. Take them away. How has that worked?

Do you see a trend here? Look at the list of bad things that this nation and world has over time tried to legislate away because of the peoples lack of personal responsibility. Look at the consequences people historically have paid over time due to this legislation. When you don’t take responsibility for your actions, it doesn’t affect you. Eventually it only effects those that are responsible. The history books are full of prime examples of how people, citizens, countries, civilizations have failed for nothing more then lack of responsibility that more times then not can easily be traced back to an individual.

We’re all going to fail at something or things in life. It’s nature to fail. Without failure we don’t learn. Its when we fail that we don’t own the failure or blame someone else for the failure that the problem really takes root. Failure is a tough lesson in life to accept and take ownership of in this day and age. Its easy to dismiss or shift the blame of failure to others for the current state of affairs we find ourselves living in. I know I am no different. I have failed, I have shifted blame too. I can say and I guess I am fortunate that I have realized that in life, it hasn’t worked. I believe real freedom is when you accept your failures, learn and move on, trying not to fail in a similar way again. Sometimes the lessons are easy, sometimes hard.

I have soapboxed this subject enough so I’ll close with the following. Don’t allow the mainstream media to dictate to you how to feel. There are no hero’s in this so don’t look for any. Hollywood movie stars and entertainers having nothing of significance to say about this and if they claim they do then you should know immediately they’re full of shit and don’t truly care. There was and still is lots of failure of personal responsibility that led to and allowed this to happen. It wasn’t a singular item. Not a gun, an unlocked door, or a mother in denial of her mentally broken son. A lot of people passed the buck and didn’t accept responsibility that lead up to these events. This will happen again. No amount of new laws will prevent bad things from happening. Be responsible, and be ready for bad things to happen in a way that makes you comfortable. Not what some idiot on TV or the Internet tells you. This blog included.

Monday again, Costas is an idiot, Kate is knocked up.

Its Monday again kids, ugh. They should make a pill for Mondays. Mondays just drag on so long, and serve no real purpose but to remind us just how far away Friday actually is and how fast yesterday seems to pass us by.

Everyone probably knows by now the brouhaha that Kansas City Chiefs Jovan Belcher pulled this past weekend. Kills his girlfriend, then himself with a handgun. Sad and unfortunate, but what is worse is Bob Costas opining about his perceived ideas of gun control and how if Belcher didn’t have access to a gun his girlfriend and himself would still be alive.

Mr. Costas, here’s ba bit of advice. Shut up and concentrate on being a horrible sports reporter. Trust me your hands are full enough in that regard. When you start regurgitating the mental nonsense and intellectual diarrhea of Jason Whitlock, you cant scratch the bottom of the barrel of colossal potato retard any further. You sir have no damn idea what true freedom means. As a supposed journalist in this country advocating for any stricter gun control makes you nothing more then an imbecilic hypocrite. Every time you cash a check for doing the job you so love it is because of the rights of free law abiding men and women in this country that are granted the constitutional protection to own and bear arms. You remember that the next time you freely express your garbage opinions without fear of retribution. Jackoff.

It seems Prince William wasted no time in his royal duties with Duchess Kate. Don’t get me wrong she is a nice piece of royal ass, but does anyone particularly care that she is pregnant? I understand the fascination with the royal family and how it sells gossip magazines at the grocery stores. Honestly though, who cares? Unless of course the kid is born with two heads, hooves and barking fire I have no idea why generally sane people give a squirt of care that she is pregnant.

Now for nine months every time this girl bends over the press is going to fall all over themselves for a shot up her butt to claim they got the first picture of the heir apparent. Nothing else going on in the world to concentrate on I guess.

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was ok. I made pie.

If you like pie like I like pie, then you should mosey on over to the recipe section and get to making it. This particular pie plays nicely with my pre onset type II diabetes and hey, like all the hipster little idiot kids say now a days, You only live once! YOLO homeys!

So with that, I shall close for now. Be nice to each other and if you can’t and need to kill someone or yourself, please do not use a knife or pipe to do the dirty deed. Last thing you know we’ll have every talking head in the nation pontificating on more knife and pipe control laws and then we’ll have to cut steaks with a spoon and shit in buckets.

Let ‘er rip, tater chip!
